ACTIVE MEDITATION

Move your Body
Move your Life

When you think of meditation, what is the image that comes in your head?
Do you imagine a monk sitting in an uncomfortable position for hours and hours?
Do you think meditation is only for spiritual people, hippies, yogins, but it is not for you?
Do you think you can’t meditate because your mind doesn’t stop?

There is so many misconceptions about meditation…

But the truth is that the time when meditation was only a spiritual practice is gone.

Nowadays, science shows us the benefits of this ancient practice that can be perfectly adapted in our contemporary life.

And it is exactly to suit modern man that active meditations were created.

The active meditations were developed by the Indian spiritual Master Osho, with the intention of integrating meditation in the western man’s lifestyle.

In the East, since childhood, people are used to sitting in silence. Meditation is part of their collective unconscious and lifestyle. But for us Westerners, with the hectic pace of life we have, sitting in meditation and watching thoughts can seem almost impossible.

That is why active meditations were created, so that through body movement we can more easily enter a meditative state.

Active meditations make use of specific or spontaneous movements, different types of breathing, sounds, different music frequencies, in order to make the stagnant energy in the body – which makes the flow of thoughts more intense – circulate again, so that we can get in touch with our vital energy.

And once the energy moves freely through the body and we connect with our vital energy, the mind naturally becomes calmer. And in that way, stopping for a few moments in silence becomes possible, and the state of meditation can happen.

The practice of active meditations leads us to realize that everything we do can in reality become a meditation, when we are really present in the here and now.

Taking a walk, cycling, driving a car or washing dishes… everything can be an opportunity to be present, everything can become a meditation.

And in this way meditation is no longer just about those 20 minutes a day that we stop and remain silent, or those 2 hours a week that we attend meditation classes. But it becomes part of our daily activities.

Being aware of the present moment, regardless of what we are doing becomes a habit, and that way meditation really comes into our lives.

If you want to live a more fulfilled life, first you will want to know your potential, who you really are. Meditation is the route to that knowing. It is the methodology of the science of awareness.
